Presidency zoning: We’ve our candidate, not headhunting – PDP chieftain to Jonathan, Peter Obi

Emmanuel Ogidi, Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) caretaker committee, clarified that the party is not headhunting for a presidential candidate for the 2023 election, as they already have a candidate in mind. In response to the speculation about the zoning of the presidency to the South, with potential candidates like Peter Obi and former President Goodluck Jonathan, Ogidi emphasized that the PDP is prepared with its own candidate.

He highlighted the party's openness to new and returning members, urging Nigerians to give the PDP another chance to bounce back stronger. Ogidi likened the PDP to an Iroko tree in the forest, resilient and ready to lead.

The party is focused on planning for the convention and building a strong team to drive the process. Ogidi urged Nigerians to stay patient and watch for surprises as the PDP aims to regain its position as a solid political force in Nigeria.
