PENGASSAN Suspends Nationwide Strike After Truce with Dangote Refinery

PENGASSAN has suspended its nationwide strike following a truce brokered by the Federal Government with Dangote Refinery. The decision came after intense negotiations involving key government figures, including National Security officials.

PENGASSAN President, Comrade Festus Osifo, confirmed the suspension in Abuja, emphasizing respect for national institutions. However, Osifo warned that the union could resume the strike without notice if Dangote Refinery fails to honor the agreement.

Talks initially broke down on Monday, but a compromise was reached after the refinery management rejected calls to reinstate disengaged workers. The union remains cautious and ready to resume industrial action if necessary.
