Tinubu Nominates Professor Fashina as Ambassador

President Bola Tinubu has announced the nomination of Professor Abayomi Sundai Fashina as a non-career ambassador to the High Commission. This formal announcement was made during a plenary session of the Senate on Wednesday, where Senate President Godswill Akpabio read a letter from President Tinubu.

The letter urged the Senate to consider and approve the nomination expeditiously, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended. President Tinubu expressed hope that the Senate would give prompt consideration to the nomination, emphasizing the importance of strengthening Nigeria's foreign policy and diplomatic representation abroad.

Upon confirmation by the Senate, Professor Fashina will join Nigeria's diplomatic corps as a non-career ambassador, representing the country's interests internationally.
