President Tinubu Appoints New Chairman for NAHCON, Replacing Resigned Official

President Tinubu has appointed a new chairman for the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), replacing Sheikh Abdullahi Pakistan who resigned. The new chairman, Yusuf, was announced in a statement on Wednesday.

The appointment is subject to Senate approval as per the provisions of the NAHCON Act of 2026. Sheikh Abdullahi Pakistan resigned from his position as the executive chairman earlier in the week, with his resignation taking effect on Monday, February 9, 2026.

Usman, another official, also announced his resignation. President Tinubu expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him to lead the commission, extending appreciation to Vice President Kashim Shettima for his guidance and support during his tenure.
