Tinubu Sends Shettima to Kano After Market Fire Disaster

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sent Vice President Kashim Shettima to Kano following a devastating fire disaster that affected a market, leading to substantial losses for traders estimated in billions of naira. The delegation, scheduled to depart Abuja on Monday, aims to convey President Tinubu's condolences to the victims and express the federal government's support.

This incident marks the second fire disaster in the market within two weeks. The delegation will also pledge financial assistance on behalf of the government to aid the victims and facilitate the quick reopening of the market.

Key members of the delegation include Tajudeen Abba, Speaker of the House of Representatives; Barau Jibrin, Deputy Senate President; Kawu Ismaila; Abubakar Kabir Bichi, Chairman of the House of Representatives Appropriations Committee; Dr. Bernard M. Doro, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs; and Zubaida Umar, Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
