Suspected Herdsmen Behead Health Worker in Benue State

On Monday morning, a health worker named Ojoma Emi Ikobi was ambushed and beheaded by suspected herdsmen in the Apa Local Government Area of Benue State. The incident took place at Ugbobi junction along the Ikobi-Olegogba axis, which has been reported as a frequent ambush point for armed herders.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots, estimated between 10 to 15, which caused alarm in the area. Dr.

Edoh Ofugocho, a resident and member of the Ikobi Progress Forum, confirmed the attack and expressed concern over the increasing violence in the community. The deceased was a married individual with three children.

Residents have voiced their fears regarding the safety of travel within the community, as they continue to experience repeated attacks despite complaints to security agencies. The community is calling for urgent government intervention to address the persistent killings in the area.
