Boko Haram Attack in Adamawa Leaves 11 Dead

In the early hours of Monday, suspected Boko Haram militants attacked Zaranga village in the Gombi Local Government Area of Adamawa State, resulting in the deaths of at least 11 individuals. Residents reported that the attackers arrived before dawn, firing upon the community and igniting homes as they fled.

A village resident, who chose to remain anonymous, confirmed that 11 bodies had been recovered, with many others still unaccounted for. Search teams and security personnel are actively searching the surrounding forest for missing persons.

A second resident reported that his wife and two family members were among the deceased. As of Monday, the full extent of the attack was still unclear, with ongoing efforts to locate survivors or additional victims.

The Adamawa State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, did not respond to multiple calls for official confirmation of the incident by the time this report was filed. Gombi LGA has faced recurring attacks linked to Boko Haram and its affiliates in recent years.
