Four Killed in Attack on Benue Community

On Monday night, a violent attack occurred in Abaushwa community, located in Nzorov Council Ward of Guma Local Government Area, Benue State, resulting in the deaths of four individuals. Residents reported that assailants stormed the community around midnight, breaking into homes and attacking occupants while they slept.

A resident named Atoundo stated that three people were initially killed during the assault, with one more succumbing to injuries later at the General Hospital in Gbajimba, raising the death toll to four. Dr.

Frank Kyungun, a former Executive Secretary of the Benue State Teaching Service Board and community member, condemned the unprovoked attack. Morris Orwough, the Chairman of Guma Local Government Area, issued a statement condemning the violence and confirmed that security personnel had been dispatched to the area to restore order and protect residents.

The Benue State Police Command, represented by DSP Peter Aondona, confirmed the fatalities and stated that investigations are ongoing to apprehend the attackers.
