Breaking: Tension as Security Forces Arrest 100 Suspected Thugs as By-Election Begins

Security forces have arrested 100 suspected political thugs in Bagwai Local Government Area, Kano state as the by-election begins. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) confirmed the arrests, with the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Abdu Zango, stating that the swift action was taken to prevent any disruption.

While there was a delay due to a vehicle breakdown and an attempt to obstruct movement, security operatives restored calm promptly. The suspects will be prosecuted by the police.

In a separate incident in Kaduna, security operatives arrested a man with a cash sum of N1 million, suspected to be meant for compromising the electoral exercise. The importance of accountability and decisive action in such situations was emphasized by political analyst Hamma Hayatu.
