Police restrict movement ahead Kano by-elections, ban vigilante, others from polling units

The Kano State Police Command has announced movement restrictions in four local government areas ahead of the by-elections on Saturday. The restrictions, which will be in place from midnight on Friday to Saturday, aim to ensure a peaceful, free, fair, and transparent election.

Police Commissioner Ibrahim Adamu Bakori stated that only essential service vehicles, ambulances, fire service trucks, electoral officers, and accredited observers will be allowed to move during this period. Bakori also warned against the presence of weapons, political clothing, and loitering around polling stations.

The police emphasized that only eligible voters and officially recognized INEC agents will be permitted at polling units. Residents are urged to cooperate with security agencies and report any suspicious activities.
