Nigerian Troops Arrest Suspected Kidnapper Negotiating N20m Ransom in Taraba State

Nigerian troops from the 6th Brigade arrested Umar Musa Geyi, a suspected kidnapper, while negotiating a N20 million ransom in Wukari, Taraba State. The arrest was made based on credible intelligence, with Geyi believed to be connected to a kidnapping syndicate targeting Fulani residents.

The suspect was apprehended during a phone conversation interception and is currently undergoing interrogation to help locate the victim. Brigadier General Kingsley Chidieber Uwa commended the troops for their professionalism.

Major General Ma Etsi Ndagi highlighted the ongoing crisis in the North Central states due to conflicts between farming and herding communities.
