Ndume Urges Tinubu for Regular Security Briefings

Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South, has called on President Bola Tinubu to provide regular briefings to Nigerians regarding the government's efforts to combat insurgency and banditry across the country. This appeal comes in light of a recent tragic incident in Ngosh, Borno State, where insurgents reportedly abducted over 100 women and children.

The attack, attributed to Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province, resulted in the deaths of a soldier and the chief imam of the town, alongside several community elders. Ndume emphasized the need for sustained military operations against insurgent strongholds, particularly in the northeast, and urged the establishment of a situation room at the presidential villa to monitor security developments.

He also recommended the creation of air component centers across the three geopolitical zones in the north to enhance aerial operations against insurgents. Ndume commended the Nigerian Army's response to the Ngosh attack but reiterated the need for increased funding for security agencies to procure necessary arms and ammunition.
