Ndume Calls for Intensified Military Action Against Terrorism

Sen. Ali Ndume, representing Borno South, has called on the Nigerian government, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to intensify military operations against terrorist groups in northeastern Nigeria. His remarks came in response to a recent attack in Ngosh community, Gwoza Local Government Area, Borno State, which resulted in the deaths of 50 residents and the abduction of numerous individuals, including women and children.

Ndume emphasized the need for a coordinated military strategy to target known insurgent strongholds such as Sambisa Forest, Lake Chad Basin, and Mandara Mountain. He highlighted the importance of sustaining military actions and improving funding for the Nigerian Army, which he described as insufficient compared to the scale of security challenges faced by the country.

Ndume's concerns reflect a broader issue of resurgent attacks in Borno and neighboring states, necessitating a state of emergency to effectively combat the insurgency.
