BUA Foods Reports N450.5bn Profit, Plans Market Expansion

BUA Foods Plc (NGX: BUAFOODS) announced its focus on market expansion and efficiency after achieving a nine-month profit of N450.5 billion for the period ending 30 September 2026, despite a 19% decline in revenue to N1.15 trillion. The managing director, Engr. Ayodele Abioye, attributed the revenue drop to softer pricing and subdued consumer demand.
However, gross profit increased to N552.90 billion, up from N520.65 billion in the same period of 2025, with a gross profit margin rising to 48.3%. The company reported a 34% reduction in cost of sales to N592.94 billion, linked to lower input costs and a stable foreign exchange environment.
Operating expenses also fell by 20% to N66.99 billion. BUA Foods plans to leverage its manufacturing scale and distribution reach across its product portfolio, which includes sugar, flour, pasta, rice, and edible oils, to support long-term growth.
