Buhari Addresses Security Challenges in Oyo Kidnapping

Senator Abdulfatai Buhari, representing Oyo North Senatorial District, provided insights into the difficulties faced by security agencies in launching direct offensives against kidnappers responsible for the abduction of schoolchildren in Oyo State. During a live appearance on Arise Television, he disclosed that the gunmen deliberately surround the children to use them as human shields, making rescue operations extremely risky.

Buhari emphasized that an attack on the kidnappers' hideouts could lead to the death of the children held captive. He explained that the vast forest regions, which serve as hideouts for the criminals, complicate intelligence gathering and tracking operations.

The senator also mentioned that the situation differs from conventional warfare, as the kidnappers can quickly relocate across large territories. He provided an update on the federal government's efforts to secure the release of the victims and expressed concern for the families affected by the abductions.
