Shehu Sani Calls for New Security Framework for Schools

Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, called for a new security framework to ensure the safety of students returning to school after the release of abducted pupils and a teacher in Oyo State. Sani made these remarks in a post on X, expressing relief over the successful release of the abducted individuals.

He commended the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, along with the military, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) for their efforts that led to the release. The announcement of the release was made by Bayo Onanuga, spokesperson for President Bola Tinubu, who confirmed that the abducted pupils and teacher were freed after being held captive.

Sani's call for a new security framework highlights the ongoing challenges of student safety in Nigeria, particularly in light of recent kidnappings.
