Yobe State Governor Approves N7.9 Billion for Retirees' Gratuity Payments

Governor Buni of Yobe State has approved the sum of N7.9 billion for retirees, with N5.8 billion allocated to the State Commission for Finance for the payment of gratuities to retired public officers. An additional N2.1 billion has been earmarked for the payment of outstanding gratuities to retired local government workers.

The move aims to ensure prompt and monthly payment of retirement benefits to avoid accumulation of arrears, demonstrating the state government's commitment to workers' welfare. The Ministry of Finance and other relevant agencies will collaborate to ensure transparent and seamless disbursement of funds to benefit retirees promptly.
