Buratai Praises Troops for Gains Against Terrorism

Former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen.

Tukur Buratai, praised the Nigerian Army for its significant operational successes against terrorism and banditry across the country. In a statement on Sunday, he noted the recent military operations, especially in the North East, where troops repelled coordinated terrorist attacks and achieved substantial battlefield gains, including the neutralization of several insurgents and the recovery of arms and ammunition.

In Borno State, troops successfully defended Kukareta against heavily armed terrorists, killing 24 fighters and recovering multiple weapons. Buratai attributed these successes to improved synergy between the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Air Force, emphasizing the critical role of precise airstrikes in degrading enemy capabilities.

He also highlighted operations in the North West, where troops neutralized bandits and recovered stolen livestock. Buratai called for sustained military pressure and public support for the armed forces, urging citizens to avoid spreading unverified information that could aid enemy propaganda.

He reaffirmed the need for continued intelligence gathering and inter-agency cooperation to restore peace and security across Nigeria.
