Nigerian Army Vows to Defeat Terrorism in Yobe State

On Friday, during an operational visit to Yobe State, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, the Chief of Army Staff of the Nigerian Army, declared the army's determination to defeat terrorism and security threats across the country. Shaibu's visit included a meeting with Governor Mai Mala Buni and was aimed at boosting troop morale and assessing the security situation in the region.

Despite recent operational challenges, including attacks on troop positions, Shaibu noted that the army remains steadfast in carrying out its constitutional mandate. He highlighted that the army has already adjusted its strategies to counter emerging threats and reaffirmed the military's resolve to confront terrorism decisively.

Shaibu called on state governments to strengthen support for frontline troops and commended the cooperation of the people of Yobe State, describing it as vital for achieving success in ongoing operations. He urged troops to intensify their fight against insurgents and honor fallen comrades in their pursuit of peace and security.
