Businesswoman Claims $70K Offered to Retract Allegations

Businesswoman Ohiri alleged that she was promised $70,000 to retract her claims against Umahi, which included accusations of sexual harassment and intimidation during the 2015 governorship campaign in Ebonyi State. In a video, Ohiri stated she was coerced into retracting her allegations, claiming she was threatened with arrest and public shame.

Despite the agreement, she stated that the promised payment was not fulfilled, and she was pressured to release the video without receiving the money. Ohiri described her treatment as intimidation and stated that she was isolated during the process.

Umahi has denied the allegations, calling them baseless and asserting that he does not owe any debt. He also claimed that no credible evidence supports Ohiri's claims.

Ohiri later demanded a higher sum of N300 million, threatening to drag Umahi's name online unless paid. The case has drawn public attention, with activists and former presidential candidates criticizing the situation.
