PDP Faction Leader Vows to Take Over National Secretariat After INEC Meeting

Anyanwu, a faction leader of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), declared plans to take over the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja on Monday after a meeting with leaders of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). This declaration comes in the wake of a recent Federal High Court judgment in Ibadan, Oyo State, which resolved leadership issues affecting the party.

Anyanwu emphasized that the faction's authority at the secretariat supersedes the previous court order that led to the sealing of the premises by security operatives based on an Oyo court order. The recent court ruling in Oyo State has set the pace for a swift recovery of the opposition party, affirming the authentic leadership of the PDP under Anyanwu's chairmanship.

Anyanwu also highlighted the party's readiness to field candidates in the 2023 elections, citing the court judgment as a boost to dispel fears of candidate eligibility.
