CAF Boosts Champions League and Confederation Cup Prizes

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed a major increase in prize money for its two main club competitions, the Champions League and the Confederation Cup. As per the decision approved during the CAF Executive Committee meeting in February, the winner of the Champions League will now receive $6 million, up from $4 million, marking a 50% increase.

The winner of the Confederation Cup will see their prize money double from $2 million to $4 million. This new prize structure is effective immediately and will apply to the final stages of the current 2025-26 season.

The total prize fund for the Champions League now stands at $19.6 million, while the Confederation Cup totals $11.9 million. Clubs eliminated in the preliminary round will benefit from a participation grant that has also doubled from $50,000 to $100,000, aimed at helping cover travel and organizational costs, particularly for smaller teams.

The new structure will apply to clubs qualifying for the quarter-finals in March 2026.
