The Confederation of African Football (CAF) will send a 15-man delegation to Nigeria on Friday for a second and final inspection of facilities in preparation for the 48th CAF Ordinary General Assembly and the 2026 CAF Awards. The assembly is set to take place at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja on November 21, while the awards will be held at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts in Lagos on December 7.
The delegation, led by CAF’s Head of Safety and Security, Dr Christian Emeruwa, will arrive in Lagos to inspect various venues including the Wole Soyinka Centre, Eko Hotel and Suites, and Murtala Muhammed International Airport, as well as engage with officials from the Lagos State Government. In Abuja, the team will assess preparations at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Transcorp Hilton Hotel, and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
They will also visit the Chairman and Director-General of the National Sports Commission. This final inspection follows an earlier visit by CAF officials from July 31 to August 4.
