Cally Air Rivals Ibom Air, Joins Nigeria’s Expanding Aviation Market with 2 New Aircraft from AFG

Cally Air, a Cross River airline, has entered Nigeria's aviation market with the lease of two Bombardier CRJ1000 regional jets from AFG Aviation Ireland Limited. The aircraft, with serial numbers 19004 and 19009, were acquired through a finance agreement with AFG Regional One.

The move comes after the state government announced the purchase of two aircraft in collaboration with ValueJet. Cally Air aims to become a leading regional airline and contribute to economic development and tourism.

AFG's CEO highlighted the strategic milestone in the company's growing presence in the African aviation market. This development reflects a broader trend of Nigerian states eyeing aviation to boost trade and tourism, following the success of Ibom Air in Akwa Ibom State.

Ibom Air has achieved significant milestones, including route expansion, fleet growth, and safety certifications. United Airlines also announced plans to commence flights to Accra, Ghana, signaling a positive shift in the region's aviation sector.
