Cameroon Drops Onana, Appoints Pagou as New Coach for AFCON in Morocco

Cameroon has decided to part ways with Andr Onana and appointed David Pagou as the new coach for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. This move comes after the disappointment of failing to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

Notable names like Vincent Aboubakar have been dropped, signaling a major overhaul for the team. The decision to change the coaching staff follows the refusal of FECAFOOT President Samuel Eto'o to continue working with outgoing Belgian coach Marc Bry.

Pagou, a respected coach in Cameroon's domestic league, will now lead the team, with the likes of Martin Ntoungou Mpilé, Bryan Mbeumo, and Carlo Baleba expected to play key roles in the tournament. Cameroon will face Gabon in their first match in Group F, alongside defending champions Ivory Coast and Mozambique.
