CAN Borno Chapter Urges Immediate Rescue of Abducted Children

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Borno State Chapter, has urgently demanded the rescue of 78 schoolchildren and others who have been in captivity for over 100 days. Most Reverend John Bakeni, the state CAN Chairman, made this appeal during a prayer session in Maiduguri, marking the association's 50th anniversary.

He described the current situation in Borno as a "sober celebration" due to the rampant abductions and the economic hardships faced by residents. Bakeni expressed deep concern for the families of the abducted children, highlighting the trauma and agony they endure.

He stated that CAN is actively advocating for the victims and has reached out to both national and state leaders to expedite their rescue. Bakeni also called on government and security agencies to intensify efforts to free all individuals in captivity, emphasizing the need for prayer and community support in these challenging times.
