Canada Sets Work Permit Fees for Foreign Applicants

Canada has officially outlined the fees required for foreign nationals applying for work permits from outside the country, as published by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). The standard work permit processing fee is $155 (approximately ₦147,500).

For those applying for an open work permit, an additional fee of $100 (about ₦95,200) is required, totaling $255 before biometrics. Biometric collection fees are $85 (₦80,900) for individuals and up to $170 (₦161,750) for families, depending on the number of applicants.

Some applicants may qualify for exemptions from part or all of the fees, assessed on a case-by-case basis. Fees are collected only at the final stage of the application process, with payments accepted via valid credit or debit cards.

Applicants must ensure that all required documents are included to avoid outright refusal of their applications.
