Carnival Calabar to Unveil 2026 Theme on May 31

The Carnival Calabar Commission announced that the theme unveiling event for the 21st Carnival Calabar will take place on May 31, 2026, at Eko Hotel in Lagos. This annual event is a significant cultural celebration in Cross River State.

The unveiling will include presentations from various stakeholders, including sponsors and diplomats. Gautier Mignot, the European Union Ambassador to Nigeria, will serve as a special guest of honor, alongside Paulo Santo, the Ambassador of Portugal.

Dr. Gabe Onah, the Chairman of Carnival Calabar, recently visited Ms.

Kemi Okunola, the new CEO of Multichoice Nigeria, to discuss plans for the event. Dr.

Busola Tejumola, the Executive Director of General Entertainment at Multichoice, accompanied Onah during this strategic visit. The Carnival Calabar is recognized as Africa's largest street dance parade and is held every December, attracting millions of visitors to Cross River State each year.
