United and City Clash in Historic Manchester Derby

Despite pre-season optimism, Manchester United has only garnered four points from their first three league games, suffering a 2-0 defeat to Hull City and a 2-2 draw against Everton. Michael Carrick, the current manager of Manchester United, is looking to become the first United manager in 113 years to win both opening Manchester derbies, a feat previously accomplished by AH Albut in 1895 and John Bentley in 1913.

On the other hand, Enzo Maresca, the manager of Manchester City, aims to join the ranks of eight previous City managers who won their first league Manchester derbies. City currently leads the Premier League table, edging out Arsenal on goal difference, and is looking to achieve a record seventh consecutive win in their opening league games.
