Carter Efe to Face Speed Darlington in Boxing Title Bout

Nigerian content creator and streamer Carter Efe will defend his celebrity boxing title against rapper Speed Darlington on October 1, 2026, at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos, as part of the “Chaos in the Ring” series. The bout will be streamed live on DAZN.

Carter Efe, the reigning champion, won his title by defeating street-pop star Portable by unanimous decision in May and received a ₦50 million prize from businessman Emeka “E-Money” Okonkwo. Tensions between Carter and Speed Darlington were evident during their promotional event on September 10 at the Sheraton Hotel in Lagos, where they exchanged heated words that escalated into a physical confrontation requiring security intervention.

Following this altercation, Carter expressed confidence in defeating Speed Darlington, mocking his age and stating, “I will beat him to death.” He also mentioned concerns about seriously injuring Speed Darlington in the ring, linking his motivation for the fight to previous comments made by Speed Darlington about Afrobeats star Burna Boy.
