Religious Leaders Praise Rescue of Oriire Kidnap Victims

Catholic Bishop of Oyo Diocese, Rev. Emmanuel Adetoyese Badejo, and Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaji Dawud Akinola, expressed gratitude for the safe return of victims abducted in Oriire Local Government Area, Oyo State.

The victims, including 45 teachers and learners, were released after nearly 60 days in captivity. Both religious leaders commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde for the successful rescue operation conducted by security agencies.

Bishop Badejo described the release as a "sweet relief" and emphasized the need for sustained efforts to enhance security across the country. He called the incident a wake-up call for both the government and citizens to collaborate in addressing insecurity.

Akinola also praised the Nigerian Armed Forces and police for their coordinated efforts in the rescue, urging stronger collaboration among federal and state governments, traditional rulers, and religious leaders to combat kidnapping and improve security nationwide.
