Makinde Calls Nigeria's Political Climate Toxic and Dark

Seyi Makinde, the Governor of Oyo State, declared Nigeria's political situation as toxic and at its darkest moment in history during a meeting with Bauchi State Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed. Speaking to journalists, Makinde expressed his assurance that despite the challenges, a new dawn would emerge for Nigeria.

He emphasized the importance of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in the upcoming 2027 general elections, stating that the party would ensure that the voices of the Nigerian people are heard and that electoral malpractice would not suppress their will. Makinde reflected on the security challenges faced in Oyo State and the need for proper coordination with federal authorities to address these issues.

He also mentioned the APM's strategy for the elections, indicating that consultations would continue regarding their presidential candidate, with a focus on ensuring a strong representation for the party across Nigeria.
