Yahaya Bello Scholarship Winner Graduates First-Class Law

Oluwabukolami Adeyemi, a beneficiary of the Yahaya Bello Scholarship, graduated with a first-class law degree from the University of Newcastle in the United Kingdom in 2023. She achieved outstanding performance in the Cambridge International Examinations, scoring the highest among students from 146 countries.

In August 2023, Yahaya Bello, the former Governor of Kogi State, awarded her the scholarship to cover her school fees and accommodation throughout her studies in the UK. Adeyemi expressed profound gratitude towards Bello, describing him as a "God-sent human." Her father, Olumid Adeyemi, also thanked the former governor for supporting his daughter's educational aspirations despite the challenges they faced.

The scholarship was part of Bello's commitment to support academic excellence, and Adeyemi's achievements have garnered recognition from prominent Nigerians, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former presidential candidate Peter Obi.
