Catholic Church Advocates Ethical Digital Communication

During the 60th World Communication Day celebration held alongside the seventh Sunday of Easter at the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria in Abuja, the Catholic Church urged for ethical digital communication. Bishop Musa, the new chairman of the Social Communications of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, delivered a homily emphasizing the need to promote truth and human dignity rather than deepen divisions through misinformation.

He reflected on the importance of prayer and unity among the apostles, encouraging Christians to remain steadfast in prayer amid life's challenges. Bishop Musa warned against the misuse of social media and the spread of misinformation, urging media practitioners and digital content creators to foster peace and truth.

Fr. Umoh, the National Director of Social Communications, reaffirmed the Church's commitment to media literacy and its role in national development.

The event also marked the conclusion of Fr. Umoh's six-year tenure, during which he strengthened the Church's digital presence and media partnerships.
