CAJ President Advocates Ethical Communication in Abuja

During an induction ceremony in Abuja, the President of the Chartered Institute of Journalism (CAJ), Isiguzo, called for ethical communication to combat misinformation, disinformation, and fake news, which have led to a decline in public trust. He congratulated Dr.

Ik Neliaku, the President and Chairman of the Council of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), for his unwavering commitment to promoting the profession and ethical practices in strategic communication in Nigeria. Isiguzo reminded the newly inducted practitioners of their responsibilities and the importance of maintaining integrity in public relations.

He cautioned against the abuse of influence and emphasized that integrity should remain the foundation of effective public relations practice. Veteran journalists were urged to embrace innovation while remaining committed to ethical values.

The ceremony attracted leaders from the public relations industry and highlighted the need for collaboration to advance the profession and promote media literacy to combat misinformation across Africa.
