CBA Foundation Celebrates 10 Years of Empowering Widows

The CBA Foundation, under the leadership of Chinwe Bode Akinwande, is marking its 10th anniversary by addressing the challenges faced by widows in Nigeria. The foundation has empowered 10,758 women over the past decade through initiatives focused on five core pillars: human stability, health, nutrition, education, and self-employment.

In 2025, the foundation aims to expand its reach, having already provided direct support to 565 underprivileged widows across Ogun, Lagos, and Anambra states. Key events such as the Walk4Hope 2025 and the maiden CBA Foundation conference have mobilized community support and facilitated high-level dialogues on widow rights.

The foundation's programs have resulted in significant health interventions, including 6,150 medical screenings, and have supported 12,925 individuals through nutrition programs. Additionally, 374 individuals have established their own businesses, contributing to local economies and improving the lives of their families.

The foundation's efforts are crucial in breaking the cycle of poverty and ensuring that widows are seen and heard in their communities.
