FCMB Group Plc disclosed on May 8, 2026 that the Central Bank of Nigeria has approved the appointment of Mrs. Adepeju Adebajo as an Independent Non-Executive Director on the Board of FCMB Group Plc.

Mrs. Adebajo holds a BSc and Masters in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She brings over 30 years of experience spanning industry, renewable energy, agriculture, finance, and consulting, with exposure to markets across Sub-Saharan Africa and Europe.

Her executive career includes roles as CEO at Lafarge Africa Plc (Cement division), Mouka Limited, Lumos Nigeria, and UTC Nigeria Plc, as well as an Assistant General Manager position at United Bank for Africa Plc. She currently serves as a Transformation Lead at Etex Group (Nigerite and Emenite Limited) and chairs the Board of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund.

In 2025, Mrs. Adebajo founded Climate Governance Initiative Nigeria, affiliated with the World Economic Forum, and serves on the WEF Council on Climate and Nature Governance for the period 2025 to 2027.

The company stated that her appointment is intended to strengthen the Board and support its transformation goals across the Group. The filing was signed by Company Secretary Mrs. Olufunmilayo Adedibu.
