Bismarck Rewane Appointed Chairman of FCMB Board

Bismarck Rewane has been appointed as the Non-executive Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors at First City Monument Bank (FCMB), with the appointment receiving approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Rewane is a respected economist and a leader in Nigeria's financial sector, boasting over 40 years of experience in macroeconomic research, investment banking, and strategic management.

He has previously served as Managing Director of Financial Derivatives Company Limited and has held leadership roles at various institutions, including International Merchant Bank Nigeria and First Nation Bank Chicago. Rewane is a graduate of the University of Ibadan, where he earned a degree in Economics, and is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and the Association of Chartered Bankers in England.

His extensive board experience includes positions at blue-chip companies such as Guinness Nigeria PLC and British American Tobacco. FCMB welcomes Rewane's expertise in macroeconomics and corporate governance, which is expected to strengthen the bank's capital base and leadership, driving its next phase of growth.
