Senate Confirms Yuguda as CBN Deputy Governor

On Wednesday, the Nigerian Senate confirmed Lamido Abubakar Yuguda as the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). The confirmation was part of a plenary session where the Senate also approved Peggi Ufanima Onwu for the position of Independent Director on the Board of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC).

Both nominees were presented by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The motion for their confirmation was moved by Senator Adetokunbo Abiru, representing Lagos East.

Additionally, the Senate approved Amina Gamawa as a Commissioner representing Bauchi State on the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission, and Abdulahi Muktar was confirmed as a Commissioner for Kaduna State. The session was chaired by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who emphasized the importance of the new appointees in fulfilling their duties diligently.
