CDS Commends Troops for Commitment to National Defense

General Olufemi Oluyede, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) of Nigeria, commended troops for their discipline, resilience, and commitment to defending the nation. He praised the collaboration between the Armed Forces, security agencies, local groups, and stakeholders, which has yielded positive results in combating terrorism and other crimes.

Major General Michael Onoja, Director of Defence Media Operations, reported that troops from the Joint Task Force North-East, Operation Hadin Kai, apprehended two suspected terrorist logistics suppliers in Monguno LGA, Borno State, recovering foodstuffs intended for terrorists. Additionally, another logistics supplier was arrested in Gwalaram Village, Magumeri LGA, on 4 August 2026.

On 3 August 2026, troops rescued 18-year-old Blessing Tuggur, who had been abducted in November 2025, and reunited her with her family after medical care. Other arrests included a suspect attempting to procure firearms in Bauchi State and a terrorist informant in Adamawa State.

Several family members of suspected terrorists surrendered in Borno State.
