Comrade Segun Osoba, a notable figure in Nigeria's political and educational spheres, passed away peacefully at the age of 92. He was honored during a gathering in Ijebu Ode, where attendees reflected on his significant contributions to Nigeria's progress.

Osoba, a former governor of Ogun State, was a dedicated educator who taught history at the University of Ibadan from 1967 to 1991. He was recognized for his role in mentoring students and promoting radical political thought, particularly during the 1970s and 1980s.

His 80th birthday celebration in 2015 was marked by discussions on the struggles for a new Nigerian society, with notable figures like Femi Falana acknowledging his impact. Osoba, a graduate of the University of Ibadan and a UNESCO fellow, was involved in the drafting of Nigeria's new constitution in the mid-1970s.
