Cesc Fabregas Wins Serie A Coach of the Year Award
Cesc Fabregas has been named Serie A Coach of the Year for the 2025-2026 season after successfully guiding Como to a historic fourth-place finish, marking the club's first-ever qualification for the Champions League. The award was presented at the Gran Gala del Calcio AIC, which honors significant contributors to Italian football.
Fabregas, who concluded his playing career with Como in Serie B in 2023, initially served as interim manager before being appointed permanent head coach in the summer of 2024. Under his leadership, Como finished 10th in their first season back in Serie A, followed by an impressive 2025-26 campaign.
Fabregas has emphasized youth development, with Nico Paz emerging as a standout player, making 40 appearances, scoring 13 goals, and providing eight assists last season. Como will debut in the Champions League, hosting teams like Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia.
