CHAN 2024: Lawal disappointed with Home Eagles’ loss to Sudan

Former international Dimeji Lawal expressed disappointment after the Home Eagles suffered a heavy defeat to Sudan in the ongoing 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN). The Super Eagles were eliminated from the tournament after a shocking loss at the Amman Stadium in Zanzibar, with Sudan scoring twice in the first half.

This marks the second time Nigeria has exited the CHAN at the final group stage, with a similar experience in the 2016 edition. Lawal urged the players to secure a win against Congo in their last group game, emphasizing the need to play with pride.

Despite the setback, Lawal declared that the team should focus on the next game against Sudan and strive to restore their pride in the competition.
