Osimhen and Lookman ruled out of Portugal friendlies

Ric Chel, the head coach of the Super Eagles, announced that Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman will not feature in the upcoming friendly matches against Poland and Portugal. The Super Eagles are scheduled to play Poland in Warsaw on Wednesday and will then travel to Liera to face Portugal on June 10.

Chel revealed that Atletico Madrid requested an excuse for Lookman, while Osimhen is dealing with uncertainties regarding his future, possibly considering a move to Galatasaray, which led him to prefer staying home. Chel stated that Osimhen is not at 100 percent fitness.

Lookman, on the other hand, is fatigued, prompting Atletico Madrid to ask for his absence from the games. The Super Eagles recently secured a 3-0 victory against Jamaica in the United Cup held in London.
