Chelsea FC Reports Record £262.4 Million Loss for 2025

Chelsea FC reported a pre-tax loss of £262.4 million for the financial year ending June 30, 2025, marking the highest pre-tax loss in Premier League history, surpassing the previous record of £197.5 million set by Manchester City in the 2010-11 season. The club's revenue for the year was £490.9 million, which included earnings from winning the previous year's Club World Cup.

The significant loss is attributed to increased operational costs compared to the previous year, alongside a breach of Premier League rules concerning a £47.5 million undisclosed payment made to former owner Roman Abramovich. In contrast, Chelsea had reported a profit of £128.4 million in the previous year's accounts, aided by the sale of their women's team and the performance of their subsidiary company, Blueco Midco.
