Chelsea FC Leads Premier League in Agent Payments

Premier League clubs paid a total of £460 million to agents, marking a 13% increase from the previous year, as reported on April 1. Chelsea FC was the largest spender, contributing £65.1 million for the third consecutive year.

The club also confirmed a record pre-tax loss of £262 million for the 2024-2025 season, surpassing the previous record loss of £197.5 million by Manchester City FC in 2011. This financial downturn is attributed to a record number of player sales, totaling close to £300 million, and UEFA sanctions that resulted in a £75 million payment to agents in the 2023-2024 season.

Other clubs' expenditures included Aston Villa FC at £38.4 million and Arsenal FC at £32.1 million. Notably, seven clubs, including Manchester United FC and Newcastle United FC, reduced their payments to agents, while Chelsea's financial results showed revenues of £490.9 million, the second highest in the club's history.
