Chelsea Sacks Coach Rosenior After Disastrous Streak

Chelsea Football Club has terminated the contract of coach Rosenior after a series of poor performances that culminated in a humiliating UEFA Champions League exit. During his 107-day tenure, Chelsea lost seven of their last eight matches, including a streak of five consecutive league defeats, marking the first such occurrence since 1912.

The club also failed to score in five consecutive matches for the first time since 1912, with their last Premier League goal scored on March 4 against Aston Villa. Chelsea conceded 19 goals during this period, a stark contrast to their defensive record in the 2004-05 season.

Additionally, the team suffered three straight home defeats in the league, a first since 1993. Rosenior's reign saw Chelsea slide down the Premier League table from fourth to seventh place, with the club recording no clean sheets in 12 league matches.

This performance led to the joint worst aggregate defeat in the UEFA Champions League, losing 8-2 on aggregate.
