US-based lawyer and astronaut, Owolabi Salis, revealed details of his last moments with veteran actor Chief Kanran, who was suffering from severe appendicitis. Salis disclosed that Chief Kanran had reached out for financial assistance for urgent surgery, which was promptly provided.

The actor expressed gratitude for the support in a voice note before his passing on August 1. Salis praised Chief Kanran as an iconic figure in the Nigerian entertainment industry, comparing him to legendary artists like Hubert Ogunde and Duro Ladipo.
