Lagos Dumpsite Children Receive Scholarships for Education

The Nest Project has launched an initiative to provide scholarships for 100 children living on a dumpsite in Lagos, enabling them to attend school. Pastor Oluwagbemilek Adeboy, chairman of the board of trustees, described the initiative as a vital intervention to support the academic needs of vulnerable children.

He emphasized that this effort is not merely theoretical but involves tangible actions to bridge the educational gap. The initiative also includes the distribution of school bags, learning materials, medical screenings, clothing, and nutritional meals for families within the community.

Temi Adeboy, wife of the late Pastor Dare Adeboy, explained that the intervention was prompted by the increasing number of children exposed to unsafe conditions without access to formal education. The project aims to ensure that every child has the dignity and opportunity to fulfill their potential, reinforcing the belief that access to education can stabilize and support communities.
