Lagos Students Trained on Eco-Friendly Practices

The Fabe Foundation, in collaboration with the Aspir Coron Trust Foundation, has launched an initiative aimed at training students in Lagos on eco-friendly practices. This program, known as EcoSchoolsNG, has successfully trained 130,000 students across 174 schools since its introduction in 2016.

The initiative focuses on environmental education and circular economy skills, with a 10-month training program designed to empower schoolchildren to develop innovative solutions to environmental challenges. Tokunbo Wahab, the Lagos State Commissioner for Environment, praised the foundation's efforts during the annual closeout of the Youth Climate Circular Economy Summit held in Lagos.

He emphasized the importance of students applying their knowledge to become eco ambassadors and influence their families and communities. The initiative aligns with the Lagos State government's commitment to sustainability, which includes a ban on single-use plastics.

Titilayo Oshodi, Special Adviser to the Governor on Climate Change and Circular Economy, commended the foundation for promoting environmental responsibility among youth and urged them to take leadership roles in advancing environmental protection.
